Working with Māori  - Te Toka Tumoana policy — Resources

What's Important To Us

Working with mokopuna and whānau Māori is a priority for Oranga Tamariki; currently progressed through Te Toka Tumoana - a distinctive rocky reef formation protruding out of the ocean, often used as a marker to navigate safely into and out of a harbour.

In this context, Te Toka Tumoana is the name of our Indigenous & Bicultural Principled Framework built on the integrity and distinctness of Māori beliefs and practices to advance mokopuna ora, within the context of the statutory social work role.
