What's Important To Us

Adoption is one way to secure a family for a child. When families make application to the court to adopt a child who is already within their family, it is because re-defining the legal relationship is important to them. The best life-long interests of the child need to be carefully weighed in these cases.

A particular issue is whether the material and/or educational advantages afforded by a move between families and/or countries are consistent with the purpose of adoption.
