Interventions
Applying for care or protection orders
When we have determined that a care or protection order is necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of te tamaiti, we carefully consider their circumstances and consult with our supervisor and Legal Services to decide which application to make.
Adoption
Intercountry adoption Home Study report
We put together the Home Study assessment report to evidence that the applicants are eligible and suited to adopt a tamaiti from overseas. It also helps the overseas officials to match a whānau or family for a particular tamaiti.

When tamariki and rangatahi move between care arrangements

Care
Recognition payments
Some rangatahi aged 18 to 21 who live with a transition caregiver have special or additional needs. We can recognise the additional living costs associated with these needs.

Concerning or harmful sexual behaviour
When tamariki or rangatahi are involved in sexual behaviour that is developmentally inappropriate or harmful to them or others, we work with te tamaiti or rangatahi to address their needs and we support survivors/victims and whānau or family.
