Practice approach
Create, implement and review a written assessment and plan
I will create a written assessment and plan with each tamaiti and review them when required, in order to identify and address their full range of needs.
Care
Assessment interviews and hui for caregivers or adoptive applicants
We support open discussion when interviewing caregiver and adoptive parent applicants. Hui ā-whānau can be used as an alternative to interviews for whānau or family caregiver applicants.
Care
Writing the assessment report for caregivers and adoptive applicants
Bring together all your assessment information and write an in-depth report. Decide whether to approve or decline a caregiver or adoptive parent applicant.

Assessment and planning
Using chronologies to support decision-making in the initial assessment phase
