Tiaki Oranga
Tiaki Oranga is our tool to help us understand and plan for current safety, harm and risk for te tamaiti or rangatahi. We complete it more than once across the practice continuum for all service lines. Tiaki Oranga replaces the safety and risk screen.
Adoption
Intercountry adoption applications to the Family Court
When the adoptive applicants or te tamaiti or rangatahi are located offshore and the court has determined there are exceptional circumstances, the court will request a social work report on the application.
Care
Working with tamariki and rangatahi when allegations of abuse, neglect, or harm are made against their caregiver
The most important concern in any assessment or investigation of abuse is the immediate safety and wellbeing of te tamaiti or rangatahi.

Assessing the safety needs for tamariki and rangatahi in care means considering the 6 dimensions of oranga, and understanding safety, harm and risk, and the resiliency and protective factors that exist for te tamaiti or rangatahi in the context of oranga.

Adoptive applicant support and review
Adoptive applicants are reviewed every two years while they're waiting for a placement. We can also offer them support during this time.
Disability
Working with disability and learning supports, mental health and ACC
We work in partnership with tamariki and rangatahi and their whānau or family and collaborate with health and disability services to ensure that oranga needs and aspirations are understood and well supported.
