We plan the assessment and then gather and analyse information, which we summarise using the Tuituia assessment report.
Assessment is an ongoing process of building understanding to inform whānau or family and professional decision-making. Following a report of concern we build understanding across 3 phases, as needed – initial, core and full assessment.
We use the Tuituia assessment framework to understand the oranga needs and challenges faced by tamariki and rangatahi in the care or custody of the Oranga Tamariki chief executive, along with their strengths.
The guidance in the 'Assessments' section of the Practice Centre has been reorganised to help kaimahi find what they need. All the guidance is still available and kaimahi can navigate through the menu or use the search box at the top right of the webpage.
