Care arrangements
We must provide tamariki or rangatahi in the care or custody of the Oranga Tamariki chief executive with a safe care arrangement that responds to their needs and nurtures and advances their oranga (wellbeing).

Housing support for whānau or family
Secure and stable housing helps whānau and families care for their tamariki and rangatahi and support oranga. We advocate for them and provide information about the Fast Track process when tamariki and rangatahi are in the custody of the chief executive.

The Police can issue a Police Safety Order against a person, including a rangatahi, who is or has been in a family relationship with another person if the Police believe the order will help make a person safe from family violence.

Caregivers can access support and development so they're better able to provide safe and loving homes. We help to identify the caregiver support available so caregivers can better meet the needs of tamariki.
