Organising my practice
The Organising my Practice tool is a practical application of the practice framework that helps us to plan our mahi and take an organised, intentional approach. It encourages critical thinking and analysis.Using this tool
The question we ask ourselves is:
'Have I got all the things I need in my kete to help build and deepen my understanding with this whānau or family?'
We can use this tool alone, in supervision or in a group setting whenever we need to plan and organise our practice. Examples include, but aren’t limited to:
- planning how we will begin our work with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau or family and others
- for discussion in supervision
- in preparation for a consult, hui ā-whānau or a professionals’ hui to assist our planning and how we are going to articulate our social work view
- in case transfers or handovers
- when working with partners to explain what we are doing and how
- at any time we think it’s needed.
Prompts are provided as a starting point.
